The encoding is accomplished via meta tag right?

If so, use the HeaderInsert variable in styles in the CP..

OK! I always use meta tag <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1251">, but it is not working in UBB 6.0 beta7.*

I'm experiencing the problem, which is the usage of ISO charset by UBB6 pages. It doesn't care for any meta charset codes, and the only way to set your own encoding is manual.
I'm using following meta tag on my UBB6 (beta 7.9), which works just perfectly on UBB5 (5.47d):
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1251">
Please look into the problem. If it already been solved, please point out what's needed to be done to use custom charsets.

You never did post the URL to your board (exact URL to ultimatebb.cgi please ), which could prove most helpful!

Hmm, looks ok in the HTML.

I don't really know what to look for in terms of effect though...

Don't suppose you have a working UBB5.x still running somewhere we could compare with?

(I am shooting in the dark here - if anyone else has any ideas, they'd be most welcome!)

...but UBB6 always in ISO charset

I just forwarded this on to Navaho for an opinion (CC'ed you on my email).

I won't elaborate here - the contents are irrelevant except to the 3 of us.

Feel free to reply directly via email or here.

(Of course, that previous comment about email only applies to Demiurg - I do NOT offer general UBB support via email OR PM!!!)
