How can you use variables and wordlets in your headers and footers?

also

Is there any reason the templates can't be edited from the control panel, it seems a little weird that you cant just select the template you want to edit in a "Templates Section" of the control panel, edit what you need to, then save your changes.

Well the column widths for the main page are in the public_forum_summary.pl template.

Still need to know about headers and footers though.

I want to know that, too.
So please answer!

Are the graphics used in BETA7 final or are they still placeholders?

I wouldn't try using variables in headers/footers/wordlets..

If it works, it is probably a bug!

Why you wouldn't try?

I think it would be very useful to do that without it I had to edit templates or even the cgi's.

When variables work "accidentally" in other variables, it is usually fixed. If you were to intentionally take advantage of it, you'd probably lose the functionality.

This isn't to say I wouldn't support the documented capability to use wordlets in various fields, but I'd want the assurance it was a feature, not a bug.

Actually, there IS a way to do it, but it's not currently documented anywhere, so I would not advise doing so.

Once I investigate the code more, I'll probably end up documenting it myself. *L*
