I've compared the UBB page views (from the .cp) to detailed stats from my web host.. And it is not clear to me exactly what UBB means..?

I have examined very detailed LOG file reports (most recent was 16MB of log files for 24 hours!), and I get general summary host reports each day too.. The numbers from UBB don't actually match up too well with anything that I see in my server stats.

(Does not match page counts, file access counts, directory access counts, etc. etc..)


Specifically what does UBB mean with the Page Views number? Or - what is a UBB reported page view?

As far as I know, it's just the ammount of times any one has viewed either a UBB page or a CP page during that month.

Yes Sinister, i would have thought that too.. but it doesn't seem to quite be so. Here are numbers (for my forum) from a day last week (I have simplified this here):

UBB reported page views: 17,300

From (16MB of) LOG files, file access reports:
CGI-BIN/ultimatebb.cgi: 21,170
cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi: 835
(I would like to undertand this too)
and cp.cgi doesn't even show up on the list..

and then from my daily server summary reports:
CGI-BIN: 21,174
cgi-bin: 40,483
.cgi files: 22,010

CGI-BIN vs cgi-bin is a question I have too... (I can guess, but I would like a real answer?)

A bit confusing I think you can see?

I was wondering about previous months page views. Does UBB 6.2 log only a singular month of page views and begin again with a new count the following month or is there someplace I'm not aware of where I can find the previous months page views stats databased?

You can't get at it online but the file IS kept..

It is inside the cache directory somewhere - if you can't find it let me know and I'll dig up the exact path.
