Whenever I try and run general settings (I've just uploaded everything) I get this error (Version 5.46)....

I've checked and double checked all the files and CHMODS, and even deleted and re-uploaded the lot.

I don't know what's wrong, as I have installed many UBBs before and never had this trouble.

If that error occurs, then the UBB can not find the UltBB.setup file. Please ensure that you uploaded it to the UBB cgi directory.

Apparently not in your cgi-bin or you wouldn't be getting that error.

And the fact that http://heavencalls.fiwh.com/cgi-bin/UltBB.setup gives a 404 not found is suspicious..

OK, I tried starting again, and I uploaded all the CGI files into a new folder, I called it CGI. (Perl is activated over the whole server, I think).

But I got the same error.

Make sure the "U", and 2 "B"s are capitalized, as it does make a difference...in case your FTP client de-capitalized them somehow...

I just looked for it manually on your server and Im getting 404's. UltBB.setup is not in your cgi-bin with the other .cgi files.

The link you provided above gives a 404 too.

BTW, you really shouldn't install 5.46. You should install the latest, 5.47e, as it has had improvements since 5.46.

Did you by any chance create the cgi-bin directory yourself? If so, that could be the problem as systems that don't automatically provide you with a cgi-bin tend to have that reserved to redirect to the system cgi-bin.

If you created the cgi-bin directory yourself, try renaming it to cgi-local and set the paths again.

Could it be that the cgi-bin can't read files other than .cgi? I don't know what could be up...

I am getting 404 not found errors on many files including Ultimate.cgi

In WS_FTP there is a DirInfo button. Go into the cgi-bin directory on your server and then click it and post a copy of the results here. It will show the contents and permissions of the cgi-bin directory.

Weird, I get a 404 error when trying to access your board...

Try re-uploading cpanel.cgi, or get another copy of the UBB ZIP file.

Is it even remotely possible your cgi-bin is accessed via a cgiwrapper? That could explain the 404 errors even though we can clearly see from your DirInfo they are indeed there in the cgi-bin. The only thing that contradicts that theory is the fact that cpanel is returning an error as opposed to a file not found 404 error.

Probably the only way to get this fixed is to have Infopop look at it via FTP. I'd suggest completing a support ticket via the Customer Support link to the left.
