You where correct that solved the problem. I accessed the General settings page, and at the end i wrote:
Username: Admin5
Password: 4tugboat
as recommended in the instructions, , but a page appears saying that the username is not recognizable and that i should check the path to my cgi-bin directory which is very simple:
http://www.mydomain.com/cgi-bin.
What can I do?

I solved it: The problem was the Members Folder location (out of the cgi-bin Folder). Whenever you call for a username you invoque the Members folder and I placed it out of the cgi-bin because of security issues I have read in this forum. Now everything is OK. This UBB is amazing. I'm testing the English freeware version and instaled it in just two hours of real work. It's great and if everything is OK I will purchase the Spanish version. Now I want to replace the UBB logos but forgot the files names of two .gif files that I erased (they where UBB logos, sorry...). Unfair from my side and I pay the price, but i will figure out how to put my own logos.
Is it easy to customize the pages (background, logos , etc.?) in the licenced version?

The UBB logo image is bbtitle5.jpg from what I recall. Yes, it is quite easy to customize the style settings in the licensed version.
