Some pinheads from Japan have found a vulnerability and have hacked into my server and began using the e-mail functions of Threads 6.5.2. And Yes I have had all the security updates added to threads. I have a new server that is being set up now but my hosting company is on my butt to either shut down my site until the new server is ready or move it to one of their servers temporarilt. They have been receiving complaints from of hosting comps that someone is using my server to search for vulnerabilities on other servers. My question is: Is it easy to transfer my current site to a server that is Windows based?

Thanks

Musky

The answer to your last question is yes smile Just follow the transfer info in the docs here.

What email functions in threads would a hacker want to use? Can you use a forum to relay other email?

I am going to tranfer everything to a new server with current version of Redhat Linux. I think that would be the path of least resistance. Thanks for the imput
