Hi Gang,

Recently our "Today's Active Topics" link seems to display only 0 of 0 topics displayed. Is there a setting or a file I can rebuild to have this work properly?

Thanks,

DG

It is difficult, if not completely impossible to properly diagnose most UBB problems without knowing which version of the UBB you are using, as well as the FULL URL to your ultimatebb.cgi file, (NOT a link to your webpage). Please provide this information. Thanks.

OOps,

Sorry about that, it is version 5.47e, and the URL to the cgi is:
http://www.pgmusic.com/cgi-bin/Ubb/Ultimate.cgi

Although, we can't figure out why you'd want the true PHYSICAL path to the script, since it would be the same for 99% of all installations. I should say that this used to work properly, even after we updated to 5.47e. It has only been broken for a couple weeks.

Thanks,
DG

We always ask for the full URL to the script because, as I noted above, it's diffficult or impossible to diagnose problems without looking at the board itself.

In this case, I'm going to ask you to use the support ticket system for further assistance on this issue. We'll will need to examine your UBB.

Hi Charles,

I went to fill out the support Ticket but noticed that it is not secure! The ticket is asking for passwords/logins/paths and urls, but not over an encrypted link. I don't like that kind of exposure, is there another way I can send the same information?

Cheers,

DavidG

The support ticket system is the only method over which we will accept FTP login information. Any other method is equally "insecure", and we do not take information over the phone due to recordkeeping problems.

If you are honestly concerned that the quality of the apparent security on the connection is an issue, then I remind you that all passwords you send over the network, including with your FTP and email clients, are not over secure links either...

I will inquire about adding an SSL option to the support ticket system.
