I Searched the database and I found where someone else has asked this question and apparently got no answer. My site uses a lot of thumbnail photos and it really would be very handy if I could raise this ceiling. Thanks very much.

About line 13 of ubb_library.pl you will find the variable that sets the maximum number of images. Be sure to download and upload in ascii mode and use a plain text editor to make the change. Keep a backup of the original file.

Mu understanding is that the tests used for images place a significant load on the server, so you may have that problem if you use too many images. To make a more extensive change and remove the testing, ask for help in UBB Code Hacking on this forum.

In your cgi directory is a file called ubb_library.pl

Find this line:
$max_images = 8; # max allowable images in a post

Change the 8 to whatever you want. Be sure to upload and download in ascii mode. If you edit on the server, use an editor that does not add carriage returns.

If you are not comfortable editing files, do not do it. Modifications are not supported. As I said before, if you want to completely remove image limits, ask in the UBB Code Hacking forum, not here.

I opened my ubb_library.pl file and I couldn't find that line. Can anyone help me? Please e-mail me at webmaster@mcgraws.com in response, as I rarely check this board (if possible). I have wanted to do this for a long time and never could figure it out. Thank you!

The reference in my posts above is to ubb_library.pl in version 5.47d. If you are using earlier versions, you may have to search out the actual routines for limiting posts and make the changes there (or upgrade). UBB Code Hacking is the place to go for help. This thread has just about run its course and I suggest that any additional discussion be in the hacking forum.
