I have a test board set-up (Lisenced) and I have all of the config set properly (smtp, socket.pm, etc...) and when I respond to a post, it will sendmail to the original poster as instructed, but when I use the UBBfriend or try to register a new user I get:

Could not connect to server.


The server does not respond appropriately.. it may not be an SMTP server.

Any Ideas on what I might be doing wrong? We've set our mail server in about 2 dozen configurations trying to figure this out to no avail. I'm running on NT4.0 w/IIS4, sp5 and perl 5.004.5

Well your web server has to allow local connections, and that message means you don't have it setup right on your gen. varibles, first you want to try, mail.yourhost.com then try the actuall ip address if that doesn't work try local host. like 127.0.0.1 that might work, and like i said above make sure your server allows local connections.
