#99417 - 09/17/03 01:13 AM How/Where to Configure Absolute Path?

Hello,
I paid to have my UBB installed. Great idea, except that now... my ISP made some changes, by board stopped working, and I've not a clue as to how to fix it.

I'm running 3.46. When I select "General Settings" it responded, "Your absolute paths need to be configured before you use the bulletin board." Using the environmental variables function, I learned that the absolute paths had changed.

I reset them, but now, I get "UltBB.setup did not return a true value at /nfs/cust/2/3/7/mscnor/cgi-bin/ubb/cpanel.cgi line 38."

What now?

You can manually edit UltBB.setup with Notepad and put the correct paths in there once you obtain them from your ISP.

Are you familiar with FTP and editing files? If so you should be able to do it in a few minutes.

Sorry for the confusing post... I corrected the path, and the error message went from needing to configure the absolute path to not being able to find it. I used the editing function in my FTP application to change the path... figured that out.Any idea what's wrong now?

Hi Paula-

When you edited, then re-uploaded, the file, did you use ASCII mode? Alot of FTP clients are set to use binary and this could be the problem.

I recommend a ticket at this time, so we can take a peek ourselves. You can fill one out here. Feel free to attention it to me if you'd like!
