I upgraded to 6.7.3. No issues at all. However I am getting this weird error in the control panel in General tab then general options..


!! Could not find var def for vars_display :: showcopytype

I then downloaded the FULL version of 6.7.3 and copied over the vars_display.cgi

Everything is working despite the error, but when you submit any changes you get this error at the top...

Where the heck is that field? I looked everywhere.

Any idea's?

I've yet to upgrade to 6.7.3 yet but I'll give this a shot.

Under the primary dropdown look at the bottom, it should ask you if you'd like to display the Groupee copyright type as Text or Image; this should be what the validation routines are whining about...

I think the paramaters for the general page where updated due to the new company name in 6.7.3 so it may give people some problems for optins with no ticks.

Also, I wouild highly recommend being careful in replacing your vars files ever as they hold your forums configuration options.

Find the following line and remove it
[CODE] vars_display::showcopytype[/CODE]

Nope there is no drop down box. It only says right at the bottom of the page:

I really looked closely. The error appears on the General Options tab, showing that text half way down I posted just above where you put in the pixel sizes. It is referring to something that is not set.

What is the vars_display::showcopytype?

I looked everywhere, the only fields I found is to put your own copyright text/html and a URL to your copyright URL.

So I assume this is a bug then?

With 6.7.2 I never had any problem or with any previous UBB version. The upgrade to 6.7.3 went without a hitch. I closed the board, uploaded as usual, etc. Logged back into the CP and the installation button was there.

It ran without a single error. Put it back online and then wanted to turn on who is online (as that always turns off on a upgrade) and that is when I noticed this error.

My board has only one modification, the 'stars' hack, but the only file altered is public_topic_page.pl and it works under 6.7.3

I even tried the very long odds - removed the hack and it was still the same as I expected.

So I guess this in the right forum after all.

This is a bug. The setting was removed as Groupee was removing all references to Infopop, removing the option to show the image instead of text. Charles must have forgotten to remove both lines from cp2_vars.cgi, and the corresponding lines lower down in the file are commented out

Yeah. I forgot that the validation routines use that set of data, and failed to notice the validation error when I tested the change.

The fix is to remove line 652 of cp2_vars.cgi.

If anyone's experiencing this bug and would like it fixed, please open up a support ticket, and I'll update your site. You must enter your FTP and admin information in the ticket. I am not going to mail the file.
