With the overall lack of communication and release date unknown and well beyond what was previously announced, it makes me wonder if 7.6 has been shelved.

An official update with an anticipated timeline would be beneficial in allowing us to determine if the next "import" is a ubb 7.6 upgrade or moving the forum to a new platform.

Don't feel bad... I bought a second license a couple of months ago for a new site I'm working on. Seems kind of foolish now, doesn't it?

Glad I found this post. Perhaps the only folks still using the product are on this page? Certainly the knowledgeable people. (Excluding myself). If you guys don't know what is up, all hope seems to be lost. What is the most stable version out there is we tried to update a final time, should this really be the end? We are perhaps the oldest active version still running from comments I read. 7.02. It was stable but we have no protection from Chinese and Russian invaders and spammers. It's been a useful (and now VITAL) tool for us for so long (we started with our first license in 1999 even though record keeping seems to prevent us from being listed as a 10 year user). (Our posts go back to 1999, well before Rick updated our site and our fully paid for Gold license which seems to have reset our dates). We were promised tech hours which we paid in advance for to do at least one more major update. But even if we write that off as a loss, I still have no idea where to go to have a fully working site which is as close to bug free as possible.

If Ruben and Gizmo, two of the folks I thought knew what was going on and who I also mistakenly thought were doing some work on it all, and all the rest of the long time users on this post are out in the cold, what chance do we have of moving forward?

Brian

Well, a lot of people are content with exactly how their forum functions *as is*, not everyone gives half a crap about social login and ajax (and other features we where told in the past would be a part of the base product); some even jumped ship over the timeframe since the last update.. I'd highly advise that the statement about the only users still running the software are in this thread lol...

As I said to your other post, you need to be running 7.5.6 Patch2; everything in v7 (with the exception of 7.5.6 P2) is affected by one bug which allows someone to completely take over your forum with absolutely no information needed from you.

There is a second bug that is in the latest build; a recommended patch until it's completely figured out is to use HTAuth to set an admin/pass to access the control panel.

Well, these are user to user forums, if you want an official notice from the powers that be, you'll need to call the phone number on the main site or file a support ticket.

The only developer, as far as i know, who has been hired to help code the product is SD; none of us others are here as anything more than as people who understand the product and are helping to provide support to people on our own time and our own dime.

Myself however I own/operate UBBDev and UBB.Wiki, both owned and managed outside of the UBB management.
