There's been a fair bit of coverage of dog fighting here in the UK recently; In fact, I've just been watching a proramme about it on tv.

In Harlow, Essex, a PitBull escaped this week. It savaged a Labrador and is still loose....

addendum : Anyone know if PitBulls are still legal in the UK?

I seem to remember that there was legislation in place to outlaw them?

That doesn't happen too much down in Riverside County here in California. The Sheriff's department has shot and killed quite a few dogs (mostly pit bulls) as people use them as guard dogs as the area is pretty wide open semi-untamed land in the desert and when the Sheriff comes a knocking and a dog is loose and comes at them, well let's just say the 9MM usually wins.

Nothing really wrong with the breed I don't think, it's just all the people abusing them and training, breeding them to fight anything and everything. They need to reverse that breeding and spend time making them more gentle again.

You know, I was watching a documentery on pitbulls; did you know that most of the "pit bulls" and "rotwilers" reported in the news arne't even pitbulls or rotties? They just group them together and it causes mass panic
