Mywife and I have both been selling and buying on as collectorsand hobbyists since 1997. I have been repairing Apple Macs for 29years, and I\'ve sold many on to fellow Apple enthusiast aroundthe world (especially Macintosh 128k, 512k, Mac Plus, Mac SE/30 andMac IIfx).
DESCRIPTION
Beingoffered today is a beautiful example of a 1985 Macintosh512k M0001W, serial number F549482M0001W manufactured in December1985 with original mouse, keyboard, and shipping container! Thisis a museum quality 1985 Macintosh!! It has not beenupgraded.
Thelogic-board has the early 342-0220B and 342-0221B 1984 ROMS(actually these were standard on all the M0001W Macs in 1984 and1985). There is no corrosion on any of the input/outputconnectors. The 400k drive has been disassembled. The diskcarriage was cleaned and re-lubricated . The read/write head has beencleaned, had its height adjusted and it accepts / ejects / reads /writes disks with no problem. As seen in the photos below the PowerSupply/Sweep board is the correct 128k/512k type with the earlierflyback, not an upgraded Mac Plus supply.
boththe Apple emblems have no loss of paint. The 400k disk slotdoes not have damage from people using pliers to extract disksthat is so often seen. The emergency paper-clip ejection hole is notdamaged. All four rubber feet are intact. There was slight corrosionon the top PRAM battery contact from a battery that was left in itfor several years as can be seen in the photos below, it did notmigrate to any internal parts, the contact was thoroughly cleanedwith a wire brush. A new PRAM battery will also be supplied.
Thereare several small discrepancies with the case on the rear bottomright hand corner as seen in the first picture below, other than thatI cannot find any damage. I ran the cases through several cycles inthe dish washer, I believe a spatula tapping against it caused theslight marks, they cannot be see unless you are a foot away. As Istated before, cosmetically this Mac looks great!!!
Squeakyclean inside and out. All plastics were machine washed, all IC boardsreceived a thorough spray with compressed air. It is very hard(almost impossible) to find a non-upgraded example like this one. Andyes, the case has the signatures of the Macintosh design teamon the inside, including its most famous member, just as allMacintosh machines made in 1984, 1985, and 1986 do (see picturebelow). It would be next to impossible to find a 512k 400k drive Macin this great of condition.

MacintoshKeyboard M0110 serial number G547M011005403-(Foam shipping insertsincluded, no cardboard sleeve) The keyboard has been fullycleaned and tested, not yellowed. Like the unit it is in greatcondition ! I did not removed the keys to clean them becauseThey were not soiled and I did not want to chance snapping off aswitch, but I did blast the circuit board with compressed air. Boththe keyboard and mouse are a bit darker than the Mac, it is slighthowever, and almost impossible to tell with indoor lighting, they arestill a good color match.
MacintoshMouse M0100 serial number G548MO10003446- (Foam shipping insertsincluded, with cardboard sleeve) The original Mouse has beenfully cleaned and tested, and is in like new condition. The mouse didnot see heavy use as the standoffs on the bottom are not worn (as innot worn at all!). No corrosion on the connector or pins. Thesleeve does have some bending and a few pin holes, but is inexcellent align=\"CENTER\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.14in; line-height: 200%\">SOFTWAREAND MANUALS
SystemDisk 690-5023-D (with 4.1 Finder), MacWrite / MacPaint A GuidedTour 690-5006-C, MacWrite 690-5024-B The disks have been testedand work fine. I\'m also including a copy of MacPaint on a copy diskwith the image file pictured in the first photo below.
MacWriteManual 030-0688-D, MacPaint Manual 030-0848, and Macintosh Owner’sGuide – The Manuals are in excellent condition, with extremelylite smudges on the covers, no writing, no tears. Please see thephotos below.
TheCorrect 90 degree power cord with cardboard shipping sleeve ispresent that points down, not the incorrect ImageWriter cord so oftenseen which points up.
ThePlastic Picasso Accessories container is a bit yellowed, with asmall mark caused by a soldering iron on the top cover that is hardlynoticeable. The yellowing is very uniform, and the is no loss ofpaint on the Apple logo, there are no cracks. Very display worthy.Includes the programmers switch, two blank Apple disk stickers, andthe Macintosh / MacWrite / MacPaint tour cassette which I have nottested, The Inventory foldout does have spots on it and it was bent,however it is not torn and does not have any writing on it.
OriginalShipping Container
TheOriginal Picasso Shipping containerwith foam shipping inserts. The faces are still completelydisplay worthy! The box does not have writing all over it.Thehand holds have not been ripped through which is common for the 1984and 1985 boxes. You can view the damage in the photos below. WhenMacintosh shipped in 1984, the container was praised just as much asMacintosh itself! Later in 1985 Apple shrunk the dimensions of theoriginal container design by about an inch on all sides. There aresome slight stains and scuffs on the box as seen below, with severaldents that do not extend into the interior. The bottom foam insertdoes have a crack but nothing is broken off or in dander of comingloose. Overall for being 30 years old this year, the box is inamazing condition
