Offered for sale is a BEAUTIFUL antique HARDY glass fly rod in the tube .
This fly rod was made in England .
The rod dates back into the early 1960\'s and was designed by Jon E Tarantino.
The rod is in beautiful condition and is 100 % original with no repairs anywhere. The rod is complete with the original aluminum rod tube and Hardy rod sock. There is a little river dust / dirt on the rod and a couple teeny scuffs. The cork handle has just a small amount of handling dirt. The rod has not been cleaning in any way and is being sold exactly how it was found.
The rod is a Glass Fibre (fiberglass fly rod ). This is a 2 piece 8 1/2 ft. rod.
The model is HF 85 with a 4 oz rod weight and was designed to fish 6 weight fly lines.
The rod has several markings -- Hardy in script -- design by Jon E Tarantino . Also all the model numbers previous given.
The information I have is the rod was made from 1961 - 66 -- The rods name was the American Glaskona Trout Rod. The ferrule design was called the flexible fiberglass Ferrule .
The rod was found without a fly reel --several Hardy fly reels would be a nice match for the rod -- a nice 1960\'s Hardy Perfect or Hardy St George come to my mind as a super match.Nice rod for the Hardy rod or reel collector
