This is the scarce Conn marked Ames contract. I am not sure if the picture picked it up, but the Ames markings are there, Vary light). We know from Thillmans book, that only Ames made the Conn marked ones , and that they are only dated 1862. This sword has a gray blade and had not been sharpened. It has some blotching, but no deep pitting. The blade is full length 32 1/4\" and the tip is finely pointed as it should be. The grip retains all the leather and wire, and the sword is tight. Overall a scarce artillery in fair/ good shape. The other 2 swords I put up had a buy it now, and sold instantly, so I am going to sale this one. Good luck!!!
