There is no maker's mark, or indication of the degree of silver on this headstall, but it is very nice quality, thick, doublestitched soft leather with silver adornments.....14 of them. Three have gold embellishments. The silver was heavily tarnished when received, actually quite black. In picture 4, I show the bridle conchos, one having been wiped twice with silver polish, the other with only a light wiping, so that you can see the extent of tarnish to know that this is some degree of real silver. The steer's heads on the conchos, and the horse's head on the browband are gold in color....not brass, because they were not discolored at all. I have no means of testing them, but they are quite detailed, and very attractive. The leather has seen some use, but remains soft and supple...it was obviously a quality piece. I removed several pieces of the silver, but there are no discernible markings on the back. There are some tiny little bends on a couple pieces, but they are hard to notice. Lovely headstall....
