Up for sale with is a truly Amazing Set of 10 French Porcelain Dinner Plates. The Plates are fresh from the incredible Estate ofWilliam Weightman and is part of a partial service we have listed this week. The Service descended in the family of William Weightman, one of the largest land owners in the United States. This service was used in his house in Mt. Airy, outside Philadelphia where he entertained lavishly. After his death, that house, Raven Hill, was given to the catholic church. They converted it into a girl\'s school. The china has been in the family for over 100 years, thence by descent. I am sure this is part of a commissioned special service that would have cost a small fortune to have made at the time. ThePlates areallabsolutelyfully Hand Painted throughout with Rich Ormolu Gold Gilding and Cobalt Blue ground. As you can see there is several different Armorials and Crests and the details in each is truly remarkable. I am told the service would date to the late 1800\'s or early 1900\'s and the quality is top notch French Porcelain. The Plates are all in excellent all original condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and only light wear to the Armorials as shown in the photos. The Plates make for an incredible display with each measuring 9-1/2\" across.
