#1198,Phenomenal 1860\'s Sheer Silk Blue & Ivory Stripe Ballgown & DaytimeBodices: These are justgorgeous. They came from the Brooklyn Museum of Art. They are madeof a sheer silk fabric in a blue and ivory stripe. They have bust of 33, waist of 25 and the shoulders are 14 inchesacross. They are too fragile to wear. Both bodices are lined inivory cotton which has some age related wear but is still sturdy. Theball gown bodice has some splitting of the fabric and age discoloration. It ismissing its cording around the \"v\" of the lower bodice front.It is missing its left sleeve, and the right sleeve is missing part of theunderarm section. It has a one inch tear into the bodice. See photo. Theday bodice has some splitting and holes in the neck ruffle and extensive holesin the pleated sleeve ruffles. The sleeve fabric has discolored with age.The main part of the bodice is in good condition. Even with all of the damagethey are wonderful. This type of fabric just doesn\'t hold up as itages.
