1800\'s 4/4 Lions Head Violin w/ Case PLEASE LOOK (Special) VIOLA BRUMLEY REPAIR
Price: US $255.00
I believe this to be special for several reasons. What is apparent is the carving that was done on this. I know there are others out there but done well. What is on the back of the violin I do not know what that means but I would bet some of you do. One person told me he thougt it was used in a militay band. The last thing is the paper inside says this was repaired by Viola (Brumley) Hensley \"The Whittling Fiddler\" Box 484 Yellville, Ark. 72687 Aug. 1979. I believe this is ready to play when received. I think this be part of the Brumley family that was from the Ark.and Mo. area. They entertain in Branson and the father wrote a lot of the religous and other music. One of the songs that comes to mind is \" I\'ll fly away\". Anyway whether or not this is a nice vintage instrument. It has two bows but the hair is gone on one of them. The case is old and has seen its better days but still works well to protect the violin. I know not the value of this so will start low with .

I had a question about any other writing on the violin. Not that I can see. If there is any it would be under the repair sheet that is in the violin. I do believe that Viola Hensley was well know for repairing violins in this part of the country and certainly did great work on this one. If not for the tag you would think this to be in the original condition.
