Very rare and beautiful, original 1860\'s McLoughlin Brothers Set of Hand Colored Children\'s Paper Dolls titled “Victoria\" from the \"Paper Dolls in Book Form / New Series No. 3\".
This fantastic, Paper Doll Set features the original double sided Doll figure which measures approx. 5 7/8\" tall and the Set includes the original double sided Paper Doll Figure as well as all four double sided outfits, one hat (of 4 issued with the set) and the original, illustrated folder packaging. The Paper Doll and the outfits are all neatly cut out. Although undated, the address on the folder is 30 Beekman Street, New York - the location occupied by McLoughlin Bros from 1864 to 1870. This Set can be found illustrated on page 122 (figure No. 88) in Marian B. Howard\'s classic reference titled \"Those Fascinating Paper Dolls\".
This Set came to us as part of a small but outstanding collection of American Paper Doll Sets that we will be offering for sale at our weekly sales over the next few weeks. They are some of the nicest Sets of 19th century Paper Dolls that we have had the pleasure to own over the past 35+ years and we offer them here, as always, without reserve.
This very rare and original, 1860\'s Victoria Paper Doll Set is in very good condition. The Set includes the Paper Doll, all four outfits and one hat (lacking the three other hats that came with the set). All of the pieces are clean and crisp with no staining, soiling, creases, wear, damage or repairs of any kind. As stated above the Set comes with the complete, original folder which is edge worn and was reinforced a VERY long time ago with fabric tape at the spine edge.
