This very rare and wonderful, ca1880\'s Sioux Indian Bead Decorated Sheath is in very good condition. All of the buffalo hide elements are well preserved, sound and strong with short separation to the seam of the front and back panels at the top edge. The beadwork is beautiful, spot stitched and well preserved with the loss of 2, horizontal rows at the top edge of the central panel and loss of two small, vertical rows at the upper left hand corner. There is a thin border of tiny seed beads that also exhibits some loss as can be seen in the scans below. The Knife is also in very good condition - showing age appropriate wear from extended use but with no significant damage. The blade does show signs of having been sharpened over the years and both the handle and blade are sound and well preserved. There is some loss to the inlay as can be seen in the scans below.

All elements of the Sheath and Knife are original and there has been no repairs or restorations.
