Make sure to check out all of my sales after you look at this one. I\'m listing an eclectic assortment of antiques and collectibles, and I suspect there will be something of interest to just about everyone.Here\'s a scarce, working 14-note flatbed roller organ manufactured in the early 1880\'s by the Mechanical Orguinette Co. of New York. The instrument is crank-operated, and it comes with an original multi-tune paper music roll. The organette is original throughout, and its condition is quite good, as you can see in the pictures. The bellows are sealed, so the instrument is still reasonably loud and resonant. Sounds good when it\'s played. The wood is in nice shape, with some finish wear in areas, but no damage. All three cranks are present, and they are all in excellent condition, with no damage to the knobs or shafts. The original paper manufacturer\'s label is present and legible on the underside of the instrument. The small hardware appears to be original throughout, including the brass sheet metal retaining clips, and none of it is missing or damaged. The organette retains its original leather drive belt, which is something you rarely see. It\'s become a bit slack with the passage of time, but it still works more or less reliably. The paper music strip is in decent condition overall, with some tears and repairs, the most significant of which are near the end of the roll and occasionally cause the feed spool to get hung up. Nonetheless, for an original paper music roll that\'s almost 140 years old, it\'s in pretty good shape. Other music strips are available online from PopMusicRolls and Schmidt\'s Music Rolls.Organette measures approximately 27\" x 15\" x 8\". Shipping weight approximately 25 lb.That\'s about it.
