This beautiful Paiute Woven Basketry Cradleboard is made of stiff, strong reeds expertly hand woven and constructed to create a strong, rigid Cradleboard frame that would safely hold the baby or toddler. There is a thin strip of original, decorative fabric that edges the head piece of the Cradleboard and this wonderful woven Piaute Carrier makes a simple but stunningly beautiful display piece!!

This very rare and wonderful, ca1900 Piaute Basketry Cradleboard is in very good condition. The construct and the weave are solid and strong and there is no obvious damage and no repairs of any kind. The Cradleboard features a rich and warm, age appropriate surface patina and while there is some minor wear to the wicker weave, overall the Cradleboard is exceptionally well preserved and displays beautifully. All elements of the Cradleboard are original and there has been no repairs or restorations - it is 100% original and 100% charming.
