Very rare and wonderful, original ca1890\'s Phoenix Brewery (of St. Louis, Missouri) Pre-Prohibition, Elegant Silver Plated Advertising Serving Tray.
This wonderful, Advertising Beer Tray measures approx. 11 3/4\" in diameter and features an engraved, central image of the Phoenix rising from the burning ashes (the trade mark of the Phoenix Brewery). Text at the top and bottom of the Tray reads \"Phoenix Brewery / St. Louis, Mo\". Text flanking the central image reads \"Celebrated Pearl Bottled and Lager Beer\". Our best guess is that this Tray was made and distributed in the same manner as the Tin Lithograph Advertising Trays of the period but for fancier Restaurant and taverns rather than the workingman\'s \"Barroom\".
This very beautiful, ca1890\'s Phoenix Brewery Advertising Tray is not a reproduction, reissue or restrike but is an original ca1890\'s Silverplate Serving Tray manufactured and distributed for the Brewery to advertise their Pearl Beer.
This beautiful and exceptionally rare, Pre-Prohibition Tin Lithograph Phoenix Brewery Advertising Tray is in very good condition and displays beautifully. There is no loss to the plated surface and no bends, breaks, damage or repairs to the Tray. There is some very light surface scratching but nothing that penetrates the silver plate surface. Overall the Tray is very well preserved and displays beautifully. Please see the scans below for a good indication of the condition of this fantastic Phoenix Brewery Beer Tray!!
