A beautiful 18thcentury 1770-1780 peach silk bodice that has been de-accessioned from theMetropolitan Museum of Art. The bodice is all hand stitched and lined withlinen. The waist and hemline aredecorated with self fabric pleated ruffles.The sleeves have a double ruffled pleated cuff. The bodice has front lacing that is originalto the bodice. The front opening hastwo flaps that cover the inside lacing.The bodice is in good condition.There is some underarm discoloration, three splits on the front flapsand a couple of tiny splits in the skirt section.
