Make sure to check out all of my sales after you\'ve looked at this one. I\'m listing another eclectic selection of antiques and collectibles, and I suspect that there will be something of interest to just about everybody. Here\'s a beautiful 1903 Zon-O-Phone disc phonograph that has no replica parts and is in perfect working order. The phonograph, manufactured shortly after Victor acquired the assets of the Universal Talking Machine Co, has an Exhibition reproducer and a Victor-style crank. The slip-in horn (original, with \"Pat Apld For\" stamped above the bead) measures approximately 15\" in length and has a 12\" diameter bell. The speed control screw is located under the turntable (yes, you have to remove the turntable to adjust the speed -- a bit unconventional to say the least), and the motor and gearing are accessed via a hinged door on the underside of the base. The original 1903 Zon-O-Phone paper label is still affixed to the underside of the base. All four original feet are still in place.Condition is excellent, as you can see in the pictures. Horn paint is original, and it\'s still clean and glossy. Horn itself is in great shape, with only a few tiny dings, but no dents, no cracks, no repairs, nor any other issues. The back-bracket paint is original, and the back-bracket decorations are original. Decorations are still crisp. The turntable felt is original, and it\'s in excellent condition, with minimal fading and no needle marks, nor any moth damage. The cabinet finish is original, and it\'s in excellent condition. Glossy everywhere, and still smooth to the touch. The cabinet decals are also original. The front decal is pristine. The UTC decal on the side exhibits wear, as you can see, but it\'s still legible, and its colors are still vibrant. The little strip of leather of leather inside the brake has been replaced with a piece of felt. The mechanism is in excellent condition, and the motor, when fully wound, has no trouble making it through either a 7\" or 10\" record. The governor assembly works properly, and the turntable does not pick up or lose speed as a record plays through. The reproducer is in excellent condition, and early acoustic records played on the phonograph sound really good.I\'ll include with the phonograph several early Victor recordings, and if you get tired of listening to them, there are plenty of other titles available on and elsewhere. Thousands of early acoustic 78 RPM records show up on on a weekly basis, and they typically sell for just a few dollars each. If you\'re not already familiar with how tooperate an early disc phonograph, don\'t worry. I\'ll provide you with simple, easy to understandset-up instructions,so you\'ll be able to use it within minutes after you unpack it and put it together.
