Make sure to check out all of my sales after you look at this one. I\'m listing an eclectic assortment of museum quality antiques and collectibles, and I suspect there will be something of interest to just about everyone.Here\'s a beautiful turn-of-the-century Victor III phonograph with a near mint (and matching) Victor oak horn. The phonograph is in excellent working order and will arrive at your home ready to play, admire, marvel over, and enjoy.
The Victor III was among the most rugged, most reliable Victors ever made, with a huge spring motor that could play multiple records with a single winding. This Victor III is no exception. Its gearing and motor are original and in excellent working order. The machine plays great and it sounds great.
And as you can see, it also looks great. Cabinet finish is original and still smooth to the touch, and the cabinet itself is structurally excellent, withno splinters, no scrapes, no damaged corners, and no damaged base molding.
All of the fittings are clean, and all of the nickel-plating is original. Theoriginal turntable felt exhibits only moderate wear, the original crank is clean, and the original horn elbow is not dented or deformed. The original Victor Exhibition reproducer has a straight needle bar and undamaged mica.
And if the phonograph itself isn\'t enough to make you stand up and take notice, it comes with a pristine original Victor oak horn. The horn, like the phonograph, retains its original finish, and it\'s in exceptionally nice (near mint) condition, with no damage, no repairs, and a nearly flawless original full-color Nipper decal.
I\'ll include with the phonograph a couple of early 78 RPM records, and if you get tired of listening to them, countless other titles are available on and elsewhere. Thousands of early 78 RPM records show up on on a weekly basis, and they typically sell for just a few dollars each. If you\'re not already familiar with how tooperate an early disc phonograph, don\'t worry. I\'ll provide you with simple, easy to understandset-up instructions,so you\'ll be able to use it within minutes after you unpack it and put it together.
I\'ve been sellingand shippingantique phonographs, antique radios and antique scientific apparatus for more than 25 years. When you purchase an antique phonograph from me, you\'ll receive a phonograph that arrives safely because it\'s been carefully packed (byme, not by some well-intentioned but nonetheless confounded, doe-eyed teenager working at the UPS store who wouldn\'t know a phonograph from a farm tool), and you\'ll receive a phonograph that includes thorough but easy-to-understand set-up and operating instructions, so you won\'t be left scratching your head, trying to figure out how it works. Sure, you can probably get a lower price from Joe and Janet Barn-Find, but when your \"bargain\" arrives broken, and without any hint of how it works or how you might be able to put it back together, you\'ll realize that you really do get exactly what you pay for.If you\'re offerding from overseas, please contact me in advance for a shipping quote. The phonograph will be expensive to ship, and it will obviously need to go out in two very large packages (phonograph in one package; horn in the other). sale participants with no prior response, or with private response, should contact me before placing a offer.
