Rare and charming, ca1910\'s, Tin Lithographed Advertising Serving Tray for the Foster\'s Ice Cream manufactured in Waterloo, Iowa featuring a fantastic image of a cute little girl enjoying a plate of Ice Cream. This very attractive, Ice Cream / Dairy, Advertising Serving Tray measures approx. 13 1/2\" in diameter and is unsigned by the manufacturer.
The Tray features a central image of a charming little girl standing at a table. A plate of Neapolitan Ice Cream sits on the table in front of her and she is eating a spoon full of the Ice Cream - she is one happy kid!! The raised rim of the Tray features a wonderful Art Nouveau design and text that reads “Foster’s” at the top and \"Ice Cream\" at the bottom. Text on the left and right hand side of the raised rim reads simply \"Waterloo\".
This wonderful 1910’s Foster’s Ice Cream Advertising Serving Tray is not a reproduction, reissue or restrike but is an original Tin Lithograph Serving Tray manufactured in the early 20th century to promote the sale of Foster’s Ice Cream.
This outstanding, 1910\'s Advertising Ice Cream Serving Tray is in very good condition - the lithography is bright and vibrant and the Tray displays beautifully. The Image is very clean with no surface scratches, surface loss or scuffing but the Tray does have a pattern of crazing. There are a number of tiny surface nicks to the raised rim area and nicks to the outer edge of the rim. The surface is sound and stable and retains a high gloss finish (it is possible that the Tray has had a very expert. professional clear coating but we do not think so). The back of the Tray has some light wear only. Please see the scans below for a good indication of the condition of this wonderful, early 20th century Ice Cream Advertising Tray.
