AND A FESTSCHRIFT FOR THE 1913 DEDICATION OF A MONUMENT TO THE 1813 BATTLE OF NATIONS AT LEIPZIG (= Völkerschlachtdenkmal)
Published in 1912 in Leipzig, Germany. Written by Dr. Otto Wedddigen. 160 pages of text and 20 interesting pictures (samples in my photos). It celebrates the volunteering spirit and patriotism displayed in the Napoleonic wars (1813-15), dwells on anniversaries of these historic events, and of course, it compares the enthusiasm for Kaiser and fatherland to the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71, both glorious periods in German national history, filled with brave, ready soldiers. Certainly a book for German veterans and their sons. This rare book measures 6 x 9 inches and is in used condition.
