Make sure to check out all of my sales after you\'ve looked at this one. I\'m listing another eclectic selection of antiques and collectibles, and I suspect that there will be something of interest to just about everybody. Here\'s a 1912 Parlophon glass-sided disc phonograph manufactured by Carl Lindström A.G. in Berlin, one of the largest marketers of disc gramophones in Europe. This 100+ year old phonograph is in excellent condition and original in all respects, with two beveled glass panels that allow you view the nickel-plated mechanism spinning and whirring as the machine winds down.Original horn and horn paint, original cabinet finish, original cut glass panels, original nickel-plating on the plated metal parts, original Parlophon reproducer (embossed behind the mica), original turntable and turntable felt, original motor, original gear train and governor, original crank, etc. Note that the reproducer has a thumbscrew on top so that it can be adjusted laterally as well as vertically. The cabinet has a warm, century-old patina and retains all of its original decorative molding, including the turned wood corners. There are scattered marks and dings consistent with age and authenticity, but no damage or distressed wood. Cabinet joints secure, and both of the beveled glass panels are seated snugly. Double-spring motor is still strong and able to make through it through two or more records when fully wound. As you can see, most of the mechanism is plated in nickel, adding to its allure when viewed through the glass. The reproducer retains its original mica and original gaskets and could stand to be rebuilt (gaskets are dry) but the reproducer still sounds good and plays with considerable volume.Plays practically all early 7\" and 10\" records -- Victor, Columbia, you name the brand. As long as the record has a conventional spindle hole, it can be played on this phonograph I\'ll include with the phonograph an early Victor recording, and if you get tired of listening to it, there are plenty of other titles available on and elsewhere. Thousands of early acoustic 78 RPM records show up on on a weekly basis, and they typically sell for just a few dollars each. If you\'re not already familiar with how tooperate an early disc phonograph, don\'t worry. I\'ll provide you with simple, easy to understandset-up instructions,so you\'ll be able to use it within minutes after you unpack it and put it together.
