Here is an outstanding two-piece lot from 1919 to 1943. First we have a President Woodrow Wilson-signed War Industries Board Treasury Check from Washington, DC made out to J.F. Schoellkopf (Jacob F. Schoellkopf, Jr.) This check was given out for patriotic service to the United States. Next, we have Schoellkopf’s personal photograph album which shows him from a baby to his military career. Schoellkopf was a decorated fighter pilot during World War II and fought the Germans in Africa. His plane and crew had many kills. The blue blood Schoellkopf family was part of Buffalo, New York’s upper crust. They were prominent in politics and industry. There are 18 large format images. Subjects include family, aviation school, flight uniform, planes and more. The album has a bit of spine damage. The images are high quality, many of which are studio-signed. This is a great lot! The check measures 8 1/2” by 3 1/4”.
