Item: This sale is for a tiny mid-1920s Beaver Baby Grand crystal radio set. When it was new it was advertised as the World\'s Smallest Radio. It has a wood case with a black bakelite panel having raised lettering saying \'B.M. & T. CO. - LICENSEE\', \'BEAVER TRADE-MARK BABY GRAND\'.There are binding posts for connecting an antenna, ground, and headphones (not included). The detector has a cats-whisker that you touch to the potted piece of galena until you find a sensitive spot and hear background noise. Then adjust the two 10-position tap switches which connect the circuit to various points in the internal coil, until you hear a radio station. I bought this about a year ago and now I see that it is the exact one that is on the RadioMuseum site with the wood cabinet, but without the box that they show.Condition: See photos. Very nice condition and working! I just now connected my pair of high-impedance 1920s headphones, ground, and a 20 foot wire antenna to this radio, touched the cats whisker to the crystal, and it immediately brought in a station. The crystal seems to be very sensitive just about everywhere I touch the cats whisker to it. Turning the knobs brought in two more stations here in Minneapolis which I think is pretty good considering the short antenna I used.
