This is a 1940 Colson snap tank mens bicycle. Everything on the bicycle is period-correct. It even has the original Messinger seat with tabs. Tires (26\") are also period correct. There are no repairs to frame or tank. The fenders had some bumps and bruises so they were straightened and skim coated before priming/painting.
All hubs/bearings have been gone through, cleaned and re greased. Rolls like a freight train.
The bicycle was painted ultra white withAfrican Americanpin striping. Wheels are correct drop centers/New Departurepainted African American. Rear reflector came out of my stash and was put on the bike cause it looked cool (my opinion and I\'m sure yours too :) A friend sold me the front light and it was painted to match. Its origin is unknown...

It looks really good and gets plenty of compliments on rides. Evensome cabe snobs like it, though the paint scheme is not standard issue :) (I\'m sure I hurt someone\'s feelings, they\'re a sensitive group!)
This is a rider. It looks nice but is not a show bicycle.

I just had a cabe member let me know there is a link to my sale on the site. Obviously, I was wrong about stereotyping them as \"snobs\" or being a \"sensitive\" group. I apologize. With the exception of Mike bagging on my \"chick badge\" everone was pretty nice :)
For the record, if Mike were to sell me the Colson Badge that he said he would, this bicycle wouldn\'t have the \"chick badge\" on it. He also never followed through with his promise of a Guatemalan HJ. (He did buy me a beer though :)
As for the African American pinstripe and wheels; I didnt want to offend anyone by using the B word in my ad. I should have stated the bicycleis Caucasian with African American pinstripe, sorry.
