This sale is for an original Wurlitzer model 4006A remote wall speaker (Serial # 2010447). These speakers were produced in the late-1940's for use with the model 1015 and 1100 jukeboxes. I'm not sure how the 4006A differs from the model 4006. I recently purchased this from an older gentleman in NY State, who had previously used the speaker with a 40's Wurlitzer jukebox. I hate to sell it, but have need of some cash right now. I have not tested the speaker, personally, but have no reason to believe (other than age) that it wouldn't work properly. I also believe that the actual speaker is inside is the original one. This wall speaker is in nice, unrestored condition, except that it is missing some of the small mirrors, as shown. The original grill cloth is also faded and the red metal outer ring shows some chips in the original red paint. The wood cabinet is in very good shape, but has a couple paint stains and a couple tiny pieces of veneer missing. At one time, reproduction mirror kits were made for this model, but I don't know that they are still being produced. Worst comes to worst, you could have some new mirror pieces cut by a local glass company. This is a rare speaker and will make a very nice one to restore, as it mainly needs some cosmetic work, as opposed to major woodwork or heavy restoration. -- **I have additional pictures, so please contact me, if you would like me to send more pictures to you. Hey Folks -- I just wanted to mention that I was just in touch with someone who will be a source for the "Wurlitzer Music" decal and also probably some original mirrors as well, as he is restoring his own 4006A speaker and will have a couple extras. I will pass along his contact info to the high buyer only, after the close of the sale. Also, he suggested (*lightly*) cleaning the original grill cloth with a toothbrush and some Resolve carpet cleaner, instead of trying to replace it and it should come up far better than it is.
