1941 OLE MISS REBELS vs. MARQUETTE HILLTOPPERS Early College Football Program

Description:
Early pre-war college Football Program for a game between the Ole Miss Rebels and the Marquette Hilltoppers (as they were known then), played at Marquette Stadium on Nov. 1, 1941.

The Rebels spoiled the Hilltoppers Homecoming 12-6.

52 pages with player illustrations, complete with rosters and lineup sheets, see scans for examples.

Two significant figures are pictured in the program: Mississippi\'s coach, Harry Mehre, played at Notre Dame under Knute Rockne as a teammate of George Gipp. Mississippi players included star running back Merle Hapes, a future NFL player with the New York Giants who was banned for life after attempting to fix the 1946 NFL Title game vs. the Chicago Bears. See scans for Mehre and Hapes.

Very clean, in excellent condition.
