See the images. I have a number of 1930\'s to WWII USMC paper items available this week from the estate of Maj. Elmer Myers, who served as aide to Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Clifton B. Cates. This sale is for a 1942 letter from then Colonel (later Commandant of the Marine Corps) C.B. Yates to Marines about to land at Guadalcanal, then aboard the USS Barnett. The content includes the announcement that combat was imminent, that they would be relying upon each other to fulfill their objectives, a reminder of Japanese treachery, and a reminder of what the men were fighting for back home.
Size 8\" x 10.5\", condition good with creases from folding, corner bumps, minor edge wear.
