1946 AUTOCAR DC100 OIL FIELD TRUCK 8x10 PHOTO, J.J. WILLIS TRUCKING,ODESSA,TEXAS
Price: US $9.99

This excellent photo is a high quality new 8” x 10” black & white glossy photo reproduction of a 1946 AUTOCAR MODEL DC10064S TANDEM OILFIELD BED TRUCK owned by J. J. WILLIS TRUCKING CO. from Odessa, Texas. My original photo was an authentic vintage Autocar factory photo, dated October 23, 1946.

”SAMPLE” will not appear on your photo, it is only on the scanned image. Laying the “SAMPLE” sheet over the photo for the scan, causes the image to be slightly yellowed. Your photo reproduction will be pure black & white with no yellow cast.

DESCRIPTION: This AUTOCAR DIESEL DC10064S Oil Field Bed Truck Serial No. 33235 had a 247-1/2” WB, 11.00/24 tires, with “standard Oil Field equipment and a rolling tail board”. J. J. Willis Trucking Co. was located at 309 E. 2nd St. in Odessa at the time of this 1946 factory photo. Information typed on the back of my original vintage Autocar photo said “this truck is shown carrying an 860-HP Worthington Engine, one of twelve that the owner unloads from railroad siding and sets on permanent foundation for the Gulf Pipe Line Company at various pipe-line stations between Midland and Beaumont, Texas.”

John Willis came to Odessa in 1928, first using mule skinners and wagons. He built his oil field trucking fleet to around 150 trucks, with additional terminals in Tulsa, Phoenix, and Beaumont. J.J. was also the Packard and Hudson dealer in Odessa. J.J. died in the 1950s, J.J. II became President, then J.J. III. The company was sold in 1972-73. John Willis IV now heads Willis Permian Movers Inc, an agent for Bekins, operating around 30 trucks in 4 locations.
