This photo is a high quality new 8” x 10” black & white glossy photo professional reproduction of a late-1950s AUTOCAR MODEL DC10364S-OH TANDEM OILFIELD BED TRUCK owned by SHORTY HALL RIG CO. INC., Odessa, Texas. This is #1 of 2 photos I have for sale of the same truck, shown with different loads.

DESCRIPTION: This AUTOCAR DIESEL DC1036S-OH Oil Field Bed Truck was on a 303” WB, 14.00/24 front tires, 12.00/24 rear tires, powered by a Cummins 220—hp diesel engine with a 5-speed main/3-speed auxiliary transmissions, 2-Tulsa winches, with 24’ gin poles on a 19’3” bed measured from the back of the winches. Shown here unloading 2 large Waukesha diesel engines onto an oil well drilling platform.


Owner Shorty Hall Rig Co. Inc. was based in Odessa, Texas in the oil rich Permian Basin of the West Texas oil fields. As recent as 2000, this company was located at 2632 E. Pearl St. in Odessa. O. L. “Shorty” Long was born in Louisville, MS in 1910, and died in Odessa, TX in 1999 at the age of 88. Mr. Hall was a pioneer in the oil industry in the Permian Basin. His company, Shorty Hall Rig Co. was the first company in the Permian Basin to begin a profit-sharing program with their employees. An early pioneer in the oil industry of the Permian Basin, Mr. Hall built wooden derricks for oil producers before technology shifted to steel derricks. Shorty Hall was a legend in the oil fields of West Texas.


CONDITION: This outstanding black & white glossy photo is a newly reproduced photo from a photo in my personal lifetime collection. This photo has been printed on archival quality HP Premium Plus Glossy Photo Paper using HP 02 Vivera Inks, producing a professional quality photo that resists fading over 100 years ... the best money can buy.
