This listing is for a vintage BATTERY OPERATED THE JOLLY PEANUT VENDOR w/box as shown. All functions work with the exception that NO SMOKE comes out of the smoke stack. All tin litho, rubber & plastic parts are nice, unfortunately, the hair/fur on the bear\'s head is quite damaged as seen in photo.. When switch is turned on the following correct 7 actions occur: (1) The bear\'s feet move as if pushing the peanut cart, (2) The cart moves forward, (3) The bear moves his left hand up and down as if pulling on the smoke stack top, (4) A whistling/chirping sound is made, (5) Red light in the cart flashes on and off, (6) Peanuts jump up & down in the cart, (7) Smoke comes out of the stack, unfortunately, NO SMOKE, is coming out of the stack. Process repeats itself. Very Cool. Battery compartment is clean, as are the connections. This is a \"MADE IN JAPAN\" toy listed in Don Hultzman\'s book, COLLECTOR\'S GUIDE TO BATTERY TOYS, copyright 2002, second edition. It is listed & pictured on page 187. It is a 1950\'s vintage toy made by the T-N Nomura Co.. It has a rarity of 5 on a scale to 10 being the rarest, and a value of $500.00 in C-10 condition without the box. The box is in poor condition as it does have a large number of tape repairs. This would make an excellent addition to any toy collection.
