legendary Margot de Taxco was not aMexican national
but rather a successful artist fromSan Francisco named
Margot Van Voorhies whotravelled to Taxco in the late
1930\'s where she met,and soon married, Antonio Castillo,
a former apprentice of William Spratling who soon went
on to found Los Castillo with familymembers and used
designs by Margot; in the late1940\'s after Margot and
Castillo were divorced, it was Margot whowent out on her
own and founded a studio of manufacturing artisans and
a sales outlet to sell their work; over the ensuing years,
she built a business based on her reputation forunique
designs and quality workmanship, getting special notoriety
for her use of enamelwithsilver, and continued workinguntil her demisein 1974***1950\'s set consisting of hand-made Fish- shape

former being one of two iconic images shown on the

stream of water just outside the mouth, and while
we\'re at it, at the very tip of the bottom fin; otherwise
all limbs, fins and the like are intact and havemobility
in their joints like 20-somethings, and the patina to the
sterling side reminds us why we like old silver so muchearrings require a good hard looking at to discover
the flaws, and the reflections in the images don\'t
help much (which is why some arrows are added);
springs to the clips are tight
