1950s WC-28 WHITE DIESEL OILFIELD TRACTOR lifting BUDA Engine 8x10 GLOSSY PHOTO
Price: US $9.99

This photo is an outstanding 8x10 reproduction black & white glossy photo of a late 1940s WHITE WB-28 Oilfield Truck and Oilfield Float Ttailer hauling a heavy piece of Oilfield Equipment. Owner is GRINES BROTHERS, OILFIELD HAULING, SINTON, TEXAS.

”SAMPLE” will not appear on your photo, it is only on the scanned image. Laying the “SAMPLE” sheet over the photo for the scan, causes the image to be slightly yellowed. Your photo reproduction will be pure black & white with no yellow cast.

DESCRIPTION: My original photo is stamped “The White Motor Company. Advertising Department” with WB28 penciled in on the back side. This WB-28 WHITE is fitted for oil field work, heavy pipe bumper with grille guard, winch with headache rack and folding gin poles for rig-up work, and sloping rear platform and tail roller with recessed fifth wheel for semi-trailer work. This photo has a white border on all 4 sides, 1-1/4” on the bottom.

The White WB Series was a popular truck in the post-war era, replacing the WA Series introduced in 1941, and replaced by the WC Series in 1949. Most WB Whites were powered with “Super White Mustang” 6-cylinder gasoline engines. I believe the WB Series still used a wooden frame structure under the cab sheet metal and in the doors. A friend of mine who once drove a WB White in the early 1950s during his college days, told me they always welcomed a raining day, so the moisture would swell the wood slightly to keep the doors from rattling.

GRINES BROS. OILFIELD HAULING: Little is known about this former company, other than they were based in Sinton, Texas inn San Patricio County northwest of Corpus Christi.
