Description

Here is an original VINTAGE (I BELIEVE this bike is a 1952 model. The serial number is F5****.and is stamped on the rear dropout) men\'s Schwinn RED Phantom bicycle with 26\" wheels. I have had a few of the world famous BLACK PHANTOM bikes over the years butthis is only the SECOND Red Phantom bikes I have ever seen! WOW! It is in the original and very appealing RED and BLACK colored factory paint. If you like TOP DOG, TOP OF THE LINE original bikes, this may be a great bike for you. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike!

*To me this bike is amazing! 95% of the bikes sold new from this era were the plain, no frills bikes with no factory options. This was the best bike money could buy! Every kid wanted one of these back in the day, few were lucky enough to get one! Consequently, the originals are not easy to find these days in any condition. In fact, these bikes are so Iconic, Schwinn made an awesome reproduction of this bike back in 1995 during the 100 Year Anniversary of Schwinn!

*This bike has a cool mens B6/Phantom cruiser style frame with original paint, awesome front SPRINGER FORK with \"AS\" (Arnold Schiwnn0 bolts, frame mounted TANK (appears to have ahorn inside but I did not take it apart or test it) deluxechain guard, (the correct style but not the one that this bike was born with) Messinger cruiser seat, wide cruiser handlebars, Schwinn script hand grips, Schwinn neck with correct \"AS\" bolt, full fenders with the base for the fendermounterd \"train\" headlight,skip toothchain and sprocket, front SPRINGER fork, 9 holeaccessoryrear carrier RACK, (technicallythe Phantom would have came with a 4 hole but it still looks really cool) and more!

*Add up the $ value of the parts. If you bought all these parts individually, you would spend THOUSANDS of dollars and it would take a LOT of time to do so! (dont think they are easy to find either as they are not!) Get this in one nice package!

*The tires are 26x2.125\". They arecool GOOD YEAR \"All Weather\" wide whitewall tires and do hold air. The bike has chrome double knurled Schwinn S-2 rims front and rear with a New Departure rear hub!

*The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike)

*DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 30 1/2\". The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 28\". The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 3/4\". The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22 1/4\". The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust.

*NOTED FLAWS This bike is cool! It would need aresto for show or enjoy it in itscurrent patina. The paint looks ok for a 60+ year old bike! (has chips scratches etc but has that patina that so many people LOVE LOVE LOVE!) The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. It does not have a head badge. The lowerrear fender mount appears tohavebeen repaired. (not a big deal, see closeup pic0 As you can see this bike is not 100% original parts from when it was new but is a fairly good representation. IF you are looking for a perfect \"nut and bolt original, keep looking. This is not the bike for you. If you would enjoy a real deal COOL original frame Phantom at a great price, you may really love this one. NOT trying to nit pick this amazing ride, just like to be honest! *IN CLOSING, this is a truely AMAZING FIND! It you take good care of it, it will only go UP in value! Please check out all pics, I have nothing to hide and hope you LOVE your new vintage ride! *This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. This starts reasonably with ABSOLUTELY so offer early and don\'t miss out! These are getting to be hard to find in any condition and to my knowledge, have not been reproduced.

PLEASE NOTE that many of the bikes I list have listed have been in long term storage and have not been regularly ridden in a while.(not a bad thing) They may need standard tuning, greasing, may have old tires, surface rust etc. I try to be as honest as possible and never want to disappoint anyone. Paypal is \'s accepted form of payment. Items are shipped every Tuesday and every Friday. Payments received by Monday generally ship on Tuesday. Payments received after generally ship on Friday.

SHIPPING TERMS:

SHIPPING TIME I ship bikes on Tuesdays and Fridays via Fed Ex. Generally, if I receive your payment by 1 pm central time on Monday, it allows me enough time to get your bike to the shop for packing and to ship along with the Tuesday AM shipment. If I receive your payment by 1 pm central time on Thursday, it gives enough time to have it packed and ship Friday AM. If paid after that time, please expect it to go out with the next shipment. (Wisconsin residents ONLY add 5.5% sales tax.)
