Fantastic original condition Selmer Balanced 24A K Modified BbTrumpet SN 21218 built in early 1959. This is the model that Harry James played. It is a .458 bore size. It comes with the original case (nice and sturdy) whichwas designed just for this model of horn, all paperwork including theguarantee. It also comes with the original Selmer Special #6 double cupmouthpiece in original condition with no drops. The plating is good on themouthpiece. It\'s a larger size. I know Louis Armstrong played larger sizeSelmer Special mouthpieces in the late \'50s. The latches/springs work real niceon the case and it is in nice shape with no rips. The case has some dirt on itfrom sitting on a shelf and getting dusty or maybe some use. The case is acream color so the dirt is more visible than it would be on a dark case like aBach case. The horn comes exactly as it did in 1959. Nothing is lost on itwhatsoever. It has as perfect of compression that Selmer could manufacture inthe late \'50s. There has never been any dent work, resolder or lacquer work onit. It is completely original. Everything works wonderfully on the horn. Allthe slides work great and the valves are excellent with no wear spots on theplating of the valves at all. There is some lacquer loss on contact points. This horn was played but very well taken care of. The engraving is nice deep and crisp. Thereis a tiny mute ping in the bell and a few pings around the same size on thebell around the first valve slide. Personally, I wouldn\'t even classify them asdents though. No red rot anywhere and everything is perfectly straight. Nomodifications whatsoever. I ultrasonically cleaned this horn last year, testedit a few times and put it in the case. It is the best condition late 50svintage horn that I have ever seen. It plays amazing! It is incredibly in tunewith a good solid sound. If I was comfortable on a larger horn, I would playthis on any style of music. It might be a little too pretty sounding for leadthough but that\'s just me. I don\'t play horns larger than .453 so this hornfeels big to me (I play the Armstrong Selmer Balanced model which is muchsmaller than this horn). All the caps and springs work great. Aside from thecontact lacquer loss, some discoloration on the case and a couple of pings, this horn is just about as close to a new old stock horn as you can get. Item sells as is with no returns unless grossly misrepresented. Overseas shipping via Global Shipping Program only. Seller pays insurance.
