Philco 2000 original circuit board from NORAD system
-The Philco 2000 was the computer installed at North American Aerospace Defense (NORAD) in the 1960s.
I purchased this by sale many years ago from a seller in Colorado Springs andkept a copy of thedescription which read "transistors from a main frame computer that was installed in the North American Air Defense (NORAD) complex inside Cheyenne Mountain here in Colorado Springs that was used to determine the orbitand predicted impact point of enemy-launched ballistic missiles from raw radar tracking data.
He mentions he had around a dozen of these at one point, and that he doesn't know of any others
outside of computer museums.
There is no paperwork or documentation that goes along with this item though. A rare item in any case.
Really neat board that would be perfect to display. Measures approx 4 1/4" x 3" x .75" thick.
