This is a Dux Astroman remote control robot made in Germany in the 1960\'s. It comes in it\'s original box with original paperwork plus some newer looking papers showing the schematics.

Cosmetically,the robotis in excellent condition except for two issues: The robot wears a hinged apron that flaps open as he bends. The hinges are broken and the apron is held on with tape, which still allows it to flap open. The other issue is the hands- originally they had a sponge-like material on the palms. One hand is missing the material, and on the other it has become dry and stiff and brittle.

Functionally, the robot walks as it should and bends over and straightens back up as it should, but when either button that controls the arms is pressed, the chest lights up, but there is no movement of the arms.

The box is ingreat vintagecondition with bold graphics and no tears. There is some minor edge wear and a wrinkle here and there.

The paperwork includesthe originalpamphlet that has on its cover a communique from Space Ship One on the Moon, detailing the conditions on the Moonand the work that the robots are doing. It also tells how the Dux Astroman Robot was conceived and all of the things he can do. Then there is an originalsheet in six different languages that tells how to correct the robot if he is not walking perfectly. Also included aremore recently printed official lookingpapers that appear to be a copy of the original patent application, with three pages of German and three pages of schematics for the robot.

Astroman stands about 14\" tall to the tip of his antenna.
