1966 Schwinn Sprint Sky Blue Fastback
Stingray 5-Speed Original Nice! This is an very nice and pretty much original 1966 Sprint Fastback in
Sky Blue Ser# CB 88*** that I have had for a while. The Deep Tuft seat is still soft with some yellowing from the sun over the years. I didn\'t see any cuts on top of seat but there are some splits underneath where material folds over pan. Most of the chrome still shines pretty good but there is some peppering and flaws here and there. Handlebars have rash on top from flipping bike over to work on it as we all did back in the day. Looks like the original cables still. Shifter and brakes work as they should. It has the small cap Union pedals on it and they are pretty decent. Sprint 52 tooth sprocket and deraill Made in France. Shifter is real nice and decals are good but the 5 is worn off the shifter ball but you can still see the 5 imprint on it. It just needs rescreened. Razor edge fenders are nice but it looks like someone hammered out a dent in the top of the front fender as seen in pic. Wheels are nice stamped Schwinn Tubular S-5. Tires have age cracks but plenty of tread and still hold air to ride bike. The paint is not bad but it has some heavy nicks down on lower frame bar from chain and in other areas but from a few feet away it\'s hard to tell. Schwinn and 5 speed decals on seat bar tube on frame are in good shape. Chain guard top chrome is a little dull but is still nice and the silkscreen is very readable with a few pedal swipes. White sissy bar end caps must be new. There are no scuffs or discoloration to them. Most of the time when I would get a Fastback I would tear them apart to use what I could on a Krate but this bike was to nice to strip down and part out.
Remember how old this bike is.
It is not a show bike but a very nice example of an original survivor. These are getting hard to find in this condition as most of these bikes have been modified or trashed over the years. I think any original Sprint Fastback is a rare find these days...
