Description

Here is a rare original APRIL 1970 SCHWINN STINGRAY "FASTBACK" 20" BICYCLE! (DF Serial Number) This bike is from the era when most everything was cool! (the HEMICUDA, Mach 1 Mustang, and Camaro Z-28 come to mind!) This bike is in very original condition. In fact, as far as I can tell, nearly every single part of this bike is original. This bike has been in VERY long term storage and has not been owned by collectors. Be the first to get this bike back into the light and enjoy it!

*The bike is in the original and very appealing KOOL RED factory painted color. (Popular on the regular Stingray+Apple Krate bikes but you rarely see a Fastback in this color) The bike has cool wide apehanger handlebars, matching Schwinn hand grips, chrome fenders front and rear, cool rear sissy bar, Schwinn bow pedals, and so much more ! I dont know where you would find another like it! It is awesome! The bike is an original 5-speed STICK SHIFT with operable hand controlled brakes. Has the cool krate "mag" sprocket in place. The bike shifts and brakes. (will need fine tune adjustment) The seat is original but shows obvious age. This one has Schwinn S6 rims front and rear. This one Schwinn tires front and rear. (probably original for the bike) They hold air! The rear is a Fastback SLICK tire. The front is a Schwinn 20x1 3/8'! This one has the correct chainguard. It has a poor paint job and a new decal. (at least it is present!) I believe this bike to be basically all original parts from when it was new. (See pics and be your own expert)

*Now is your chance to own one of the COOLEST bikes EVER MADE! Make someone in your life happy with this one. This is a cool bike that you can enjoy for years! It is money in the bank and will only go UP in value! You RARELY find these bikes anymore! They were all abused and thrown away back in the 1970s-80s. Finding one these days is a big challenge. If you check out , the selection on any 1960s Stingray bikes is very little. They are very cool and people enjoy owning, riding, and displaying them! Most people do not sell these bikes once they have them. Be the first to get this bike back out in the light and have fun with it! I believe this to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted.

*NOTED FLAWS It is not 100% flawless but is ok for a 45+ year old boys bike! The paint is ok for a 40+ year old bike. (has chips scratches etc) The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to) The shifter would look nice with a new side decal! This is a cool bike! Use it for its hard to find parts or restore it. These never come along! Finding one that has been in long term storage is a rare find these days! ENJOY! Sorry, no buy it now is offered. People will ENVY you when you ride by at a car show or on the street with this bike! Sold as is because it is used. I try to list anything I notice with the bike. Keep in mind this is a vintage bike that has probably not been ridden for a while so it may need minor tuning, bearings greased, polishing, etc, These bikes are getting harder to find and are more popular than ever before! You will enjoy owning, riding, and displaying it for years! People always remember these bikes but seldom see them in person. Your new vintage bike will be shipped partially disassembled in a factory bike box. I take them in to have them packaged so they almost always arrive in the same condition as they left us. You may want to consider insurance, just in case. Once it has shipped, I cannot be responsible for lost or damaged items without insurance.

*SHIPPING TIME I ship bikes on Tuesdays and Fridays via Fed Ex. Generally, if I receive your payment by 1 pm central time on Monday, it allows me enough time to get your bike to the shop for packing and to ship along with the Tuesday AM shipment. If I receive your payment by 1 pm central time on Thursday, it gives enough time to have it packed and ship Friday AM. If paid after that time, please expect it to go out with the next shipment.

*SHIPPING COSTS: Fed Ex, USPS, as well as UPS have recently raised their shipping rates due to the higher cost of fuel. Sorry for the slight increase in shipping costs.

If you are anywhere outside the lower 48 States including Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico contact me before you offer as shipping will cost more. Fed Ex just increased the rates. I can ship to AK, HI, or PR for approx $99.95. This is a 10+ day service and includes packing. This i the best deal I can get to ship to these locations. Please do not offer if this is unacceptable.
