Description

Here is a hard to find original November 1973 SCHWINN STINGRAY 20\" 5-speed muscle bike! (The serial number is LJ) This bike is from the era when most everything was cool! (the HEMICUDA, Mach 1 Mustang, and Camaro Z-28 come to mind!) This one has been in very long term storage and cannot wait to be enjoyed! The Stingray and Krate bikes of this era are the coolest and the hardest to find!

*The bike is in the original and very appealing KOOL LEMON YELLOW (Lemon Peeler Krate) factory painted color. Has a cool 5-speed frame, (this is the style frame you need if you want to create an original paint rider quality \"Lemon Peeler\" 5-speed bike) original forks, original screen \"Schwinn Stingray Five Speed\" chainguard, wide apehanger handlebars, Schwinn hand grips, rear sissy bar, large Krate style rear brake, trigger shift handlebar mounted 5-speed shifter, (would be way cooler with a stik shifter) and so much more! I dont know where you would find another like it! It is awesome! The bike is an original FIVE speed with hand controlled brakes. Has a cool Stingray banana seat with the Stingray tag on the rear. (seat shows obvious age) It has the cool double knurled Schwinn Tubular S-2 rear rim with a Schwinn S-7 front rim. Both front and rear tires do hold air. The front is a Schwinn Westwind. The rear is original Schwinn as well. (ok for display or replace for riding)

*This is one of the latest style original paint frames ever produced that I have ever seen! (I had a Krate from Oct 73 one time as well but this is really cool!)

*Now is your chance to own one of the COOLEST bikes EVER MADE! Make someone in your life happy with this one. This is a cool bike that you can enjoy for years! It is money in the bank and will only go UP in value! You RARELY find these bikes anymore! They were all abused and thrown away back in the 1970s-80s. Finding one these days is a big challenge. If you check out , the selection on any 1960s Stingray bikes is very little. They are very cool and people enjoy owning, riding, and displaying them! Most people do not sell these bikes once they have them. Be the first to get this bike back out in the light and have fun with it! I believe this to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted.

RIGHT NOW I have a matching girls Stardust in original paint but needing resto. (see last pic) BOTH bikes are available but you are offerding on the bike in the top pics only!

*NOTED FLAWS Would need a total resto for show or enjoy it in its current unrestored patina. The paint is original but has obvious chips, scratches, etc. This is the basis for an original paint+patina Lemon Peeler Krate bike! The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. (would need resto for show. Wheel chrome etc is not great) Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to) This bike has so much potential! ! I hope you enjoy it! Most people opted for krate bikes in this era so you rarely see bikes like this! If you click on any of the pics they get very large to show lots of detail. Please take a look at all pics for exact condition and email with any questions before you offer.

*Sorry for the LONG description, these bikes really excite me. This awesome ride starts low with ABSOLUTELY so offer early and don\'t miss out! This will sell to the high buyer! Sorry, no buy it now is offered. People will ENVY you when you ride by at a car show or on the street with this bike! Sold as is because it is used. I try to list anything I notice with the bike. Keep in mind this is a vintage bike that has probably not been ridden for a while so it may need minor tuning, bearings greased, polishing, etc, These bikes are getting harder to find and are more popular than ever before! You will enjoy owning, riding, and displaying it for years! People always remember these bikes but seldom see them in person. Your new vintage bike will be shipped partially disassembled in a factory bike box. I take them in to have them packaged so they almost always arrive in the same condition as they left us. You may want to consider insurance, just in case. Once it has shipped, I cannot be responsible for lost or damaged items without insurance.

*SHIPPING TIME I ship bikes on Tuesdays and Fridays via Fed Ex. Generally, if I receive your payment by 1 pm central time on Monday, it allows me enough time to get your bike to the shop for packing and to ship along with the Tuesday AM shipment. If I receive your payment by 1 pm central time on Thursday, it gives enough time to have it packed and ship Friday AM. If paid after that time, please expect it to go out with the next shipment.

*SHIPPING COSTS: Fed Ex, USPS, as well as UPS have recently raised their shipping rates due to the higher cost of fuel. Sorry for the slight increase in shipping costs.

*PLEASE NOTE, I WILL NO LONGER BE SHIPPING FULL SIZE BIKES OUTSIDE OF THE USA. This is due to the high cost of shipping and customs. If you are anywhere outside the lower 48 States including Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico contact me before you offer as shipping will cost more. Fed Ex just increased the rates. I can ship to AK, HI, or PR for approx $99.95. This is a 10+ day service and includes packing. This i the best deal I can get to ship to these locations. Please do not offer if this is unacceptable. I always try to keep things as reasonable as I can. If you have a friend or family member in the lower 48 states, I can ship to them for the amount stated in the listing. THANK YOU!
