1980 Hamilton Triple Chime Shelf Clock with Moon Phase Dial
Price: US $365.00
Well cared-for shelf, or bracket, clock with a popular German Hermle floating balance 8-day brass movement featuring an 8-rod triple chime which can progressively play the familiar Westminster or the less recognizable Winchester or St. Michael melodies starting on the quarter hours. A three-rod chime gives the hour count. A silent position on the front selector lever stops the chiming. Additionally, this clock has a separate moon phase dial on top which rotates once every 28 days or so. This clock was made by the Hamilton Clock Co. of Lancaster, Pa. in 1980.The case is in fine condition without any noticeable nicks or scratches. The 2 side viewing glass panels are made of antiqued \"imperfect\" glass. The 4 top finials, handle, and 2 front corner decorative brackets have an antiqued brass finish. I believe this clock sold for well over $600 when new 35 years ago.Recently serviced this stunning timepiece will continue to keep good time while sounding its pleasant soft chimes. It is approximately 15 1/2\" high x 11\" wide x 6\"deep and quite heavy.
